What Kind Of PIE Have You Chosen?

No, I’m not asking for your order at the café! This PIE is your Perspective Involving Everything. That’s my name for what others might call your mindset, point of view, attitude… no matter the name, it comes down to the same thing.

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer (American philosopher, self-help author and motivational speaker)

A MIND IS A WONDERFUL THING TO CHANGE

Everyone has their own perspective, but that perspective is not set in stone. It can be examined, considered carefully and, best of all, changed.

Just because we start with one perspective, it doesn’t mean we can’t develop a new and different one.

There are many ways to see the same situation. Two people can look at the same thing and see it completely differently.

In any given moment, the perspective we choose can greatly affect the outcome of the decisions we make, and those decisions may have far-reaching consequences.

ALL CHANGE STARTS SMALL

Your choice of PIE determines the reality you experience.

When you become aware of this, you can choose a more proactive role in creating a rich and rewarding life.

The PIE with which you begin, from existing beliefs, customs or habits, can be changed and enhanced.

EXAMINE YOUR POINT OF VIEW

Perspective is everything. I look in the mirror and think to myself, “You’ve got a decent physique, but your abs and arms could use some improvement.”

Then I take a more objective look at the above picture of myself and I’m shocked. “HOLY CRAP! My arms have gotten massive! When the hell did that happen!?”

Sometimes you hold a grossly inaccurate picture of yourself, which often results in low self-esteem.

For instance, if you think you’re unattractive, you believe you see an unattractive person reflected in your mirror.

The mirror is not faulty, but the image you hold in your mind may be.

CHOOSE OTHERS WISELY

My advice is to surround yourself with honest people that see the good, even the best, in you.

Choose those people that empower you to see those good qualities in yourself, that you may not be able to see on your own.

This doesn’t mean you must be perfect. An honest friend will see your flaws and believe in you, anyway.

They may be willing to talk to you about them constructively, so that you can see yet another point of view about yourself.

DISCOVER A NEW REALITY

When we open ourselves to new, more positive possibilities, we might decide on a new and really great choice of PIE!
